Abstract:

Big Data is an important resource for modern agriculture. A data platform for a given agricultural product, accessible by participants throughout the industry value chain, can be advantageous for developing China’s agricultural industries. This paper discusses the construction of an industry-wide data platform for a single agricultural product, including the demands of data resource collection, management, sharing, system construction and application integration. To address data needs across the industry chain for a single product, we will integrate knowledge and data in a comprehensive way, and build capabilities for big data collection, gathering, analysis and service. The project goal is to build a product-focused knowledge center for use across the whole industry value chain. The effort will realize the automatic collection, dynamic updating, multi-source data storage and data management of data and knowledge from all stages of the industry chain. The intelligent big data platform will include providing knowledge and data resources services, intelligent search, data search, decision analysis, expert services, intelligent reporting, and other product-focused functions. The aggregated data and knowledge resources can support industry-wide efforts, such as industrial operations monitoring, industrial structure research, ecological environment adaptability research, price monitoring, and production and marketing analysis. The effort is expected to enhance the digitization of agricultural industrial production and management, promote knowledge integration and innovation across different stages of the industry value chain (“research-learning-production” and “production-supply-marketing”), and support optimal and sustainable development across the product industry.

Key words: knowledge center, agricultural single product, full industry chain, big data platform, agricultural big data
