Design of Environmental Monitoring System for Walnut Base in Mountainous Area Based on STM32

Abstract:

New-generation technologies such as the Internet of Things (IOT), cloud computing, big data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence provide new pathways and models for upgrading and transforming traditional agriculture into smart agriculture. This paper takes the intelligent development of the walnut industry in Fengqing County, an example of “one county and one industry” in Yunnan Province as the object of study, and attempts to solve the key data monitoring and application needs of the walnut-planting base environment. Focusing on the problems of weak infrastructure, unreliable power supply, poor data security, and difficulties with data acquisition and monitoring in mountainous areas, this paper describes research based on the STM32 technology, which is widely applicable to the research, design, and implementation of an environmental monitoring IOT system for walnuts and other crops in mountainous and remote areas. The system combines Nb IOT, 4G, solar power, and blockchain technology to realize data integration with the Alibaba cloud IOT platform. We consider the overall system architecture, main control module, communication module, power supply module, data transmission module, blockchain design, and deployment We also research data security and data visualization. A data security chain is constructed using the Baidu open-source blockchain, enabling the real-time uploading of all monitoring data and ensuring the authenticity and reliability of the data. Experiments in four core walnut producing areas of Fengqing County prove that the environmental IOT monitoring system based on STM32 has high availability and achieves good results. The proposed system provides data support and promotes the evolution of the walnut industry, creating a smart, green, and ecological walnut brand.
