Abstract:

There are abundance predacious natural enemy resources in main agro-ecosystems in China. They play important roles in pest biological control or natural control. Coccinellids are predacious natural enemies that widely applied, among which some have already been commercially produced. Chengde city is an important water-conserving area, a barrier for wind and sand control, and a key area for biodiversity conservation in the North China Plain. But limited studies have been performed on local insect resources. In the present study, we investigated coccinellid resources in main field crops in Longhua, Chengde, to promote local coccinellid biodiversity data accumulation and countrywide share and development of natural enemy data.Data were obtained through manual survey and malaise trap, on fixed sites with fixed frequency during 4 consecutive years. Population dynamics data, high-definition ecological pictures, specimen pictures, and environmental pictures were collected. A dataset of coccinellids on field crops in Longhua, Chengde were established, providing data bases for utilizing local dominant natural enemies. Pictures also provide data for further developing AI identification system of natural enemies.

Key words: coccinellidae, field crops, Malaise trap, Chengde City
