Ethics

  • In order to strengthen the academic integrity, resist academic misconduct, and improve the level of journal publishing, Journal of Agricultural Big Data(JABD) has drawn on principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to develop this ethical guide for publishing based on its own actual situation.

    Authors

1.When authors submit their manuscripts to JABD, they should affirm that the contents are original. Furthermore, they warrant that their manuscripts have neither been published elsewhere, nor are they under review for publication anywhere else.
2.All signed authors must meet the journal's requirements for authorship.
3.Authors should respect the opinions of reviewers. If the author has any objection, he/she should put forward to the editorial department.

4.The author should inform the editorial department in time and cooperate with the editorial department to revise the paper.

5.Authors own the property rights of the datasets submitted and published on this site and its associated repositories. All submissions shall contain an agreed authorship list in an order that reflects the authors' contributions. In principle, the person who submits the dataset(s) shall be one of its owners.

6.All data submissions shall be in compliance with related laws, regulations and policies. It is the authors’ responsibility to ensure that their datasets contain no disclosure of any confidential contents, no invasion of human privacy, biological safety, or public security.
7.All authors agree on open data sharing as mandated by the journal once their paper is published, at which time they will be asked to provide a Statement on Data Usage.
8.All datasets described by the manuscript shall be stored in a professional data repository recognized by the journal.(https://www.agridata.cn/,http://47.98.182.125/index;jsessionid=9D262BE173D32DD881520236EFA1C09A)

    Originality and Plagiarism

The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. All submitted manuscripts will be screened by using AMLC system powered by CNKI before review. Text copy ratio should be lower than 15%.

    Reviewers

1.Reviews should be conducted objectively and scientifically, and observations should be formulated only for the paper itself. Reviewers should avoid personal attack in their comments.
2.Reviewers must respect the author’s research results, and treat any manuscripts as confidential documents.
3.Reviewers should not evaluate manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

    Editors

1.Editors should ensure the quality of published paper and pay attention to publication standards.
2.Editors should register, submit, edit and publish manuscripts in a timely manner, respect the opinions of reviewers, and deal with the author's reply in a timely manner.
3.Editors should respect the author's research results and keep the contents confidential.
4.Editors should adopt a "double-blind review system" to keep the information of authors and reviewers confidential.

    COPE membership

JABD is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), an organisation that provides advice and resources on all aspects of publication ethics and research and publication misconduct.

    CORRECTIONS

JABD encourage readers and authors to notify them if they find errors, especially errors that could affect the interpretation of data or information presented in an article. When an error is identified:

    ·  Journal should work with authors to correct important published errors.

    ·  Journal should publish corrections when important errors are found, and should consider retraction when errors are so fundamental that they invalidate the work.

    RETRACTIONS

Retractions publish when errors could affect the interpretation of data or information, or if work is proven to be fraudulent, or in other cases of serious ethical misconduct (for example, duplicate or redundant publication, failure of all authors to agree to publication, or plagiarism). JABD follow the COPE Guidelines for Retracting Articles.

    How to raise a concern

Anyone who believes that research published by JABD has not been carried out in line with these principles should raise their concerns with the relevant editor, or email agbigdata@caas.cn
