Abstract:

Agriculture is an important field for big data generation and application, and promoting the application of big data in agricultural and rural areas is urgently needed to accelerate agricultural modernization and provide food security. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, Hubei Province has attached great importance to the development of big data in agricultural and rural areas, promoted the application of information technology and intelligent equipment in agriculture, and facilitated the integrated development of agricultural information and agricultural modernization. The information infrastructure for big data in agricultural and rural areas of Hubei Province has gradually improved, the application of big data technology has been deeply integrated, the concept of “Information into the Village” has been comprehensively promoted, and the level of agricultural supervision has been constantly improved. However, the development of agricultural and rural big data in Hubei Province has also exposed problems, such as the lack of basic databases, data standards, and agricultural application platforms (systems), as well as insufficient information-related infrastructure. To realize the sustainable development of agricultural and rural big data in Hubei Province, the foundation is “data”, and the key is “service” .It is necessary to form a construction pattern of “service for data and data for service” by providing necessary services to various agriculture-related subjects for the purpose of collecting original data of all kinds throughout the agricultural industry. Additionally, through analyses and data mining, services can be improved. This paper provides suggestions for promoting Hubei agriculture and rural big data development. Key points include the promotion of top-level agricultural and rural big data development-related designs; the accelerated formulation of standards for agriculture and rural big data; the accelerated transformation of agricultural and rural big data-related achievements; and the formulation of supporting policies for Hubei agricultural and rural big data development.
