Abstract:

The biological resources were abundant and diverse in Hainan because of the unique geographical environment and climatic conditions. Menochilus sexmaculata (Fabricius), as one of the dominant predatory natural enemies in this region, has significant research value and application potential. From 2020 to 2025, six-year continuous and systematic monitoring studies were conducted in an eggplant field, M. sexmaculata as the main target species, the population dynamics of this species and the diversity of coccinellids were studied. The dataset included coccinellids species data, population dynamics data, ecological images, specimen pictures, and habitat photos of coccinellids species in the eggplant field were collected. This dataset reveals the coccinellid diversity composition and the population dynamics of the dominant species M. sexmaculata in eggplant fields in Chengmai, Hainan, providing data support for developing a green pest management system centered on natural enemies in eggplant cultivation.
